HR Communications Manager

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

This role develops and implements the communication strategy and content across the Human Resources organization to promote awareness of employee value proposition, support employee engagement, and ensure effective and consistent HR communications.  

Duties:

  • Align and integrate the communication objectives of all human resources departments, through partnership and proactive planning.
  • Develop communication tools and materials with high standards, including executive messaging for the Chief Human Resources Officer.
  • Develop and implement communication processes and procedures to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and productivity in work groups and departments.
  • Act as a liaison to the internal communication team and partner on company-wide communications.
  • Counsel human resources leadership on communication planning and timelines.
  • Manage the messaging and content of team member communications and formulate verbiage that directly correlates with the overarching purpose and intent of initiatives.
  •  Develop and maintain a communication plan that supports the overall organizational objectives and manage HR Calendar.
  • Inform, guide, and support the overall human resources communication strategy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Human Resources, or a related field is required.  Master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of functional/professional experience in Human Resources or Communications is required.  
  • SHRM or PHR certification is preferred.
